An Early Look (and Guess) on What the Indians Do with Their 2018 Free Agents

Jay Bruce – Free Agent

The Indians pulled off a steal of a lifetime grabbing Jay Bruce for basically nothing back in August after Michael Brantley injured his ankle, and Bruce was everything as advertised and more.

He’s a free agent and can go anywhere, but really loved what he had in Cleveland in the few months he played with the Indians, which is a good sign.

Bruce hit .248 with seven homers and 26 RBI in the regular season, but also had a huge hit in the series with the Yankees, a solo homer which tied game two in the 8th inning.

He was also a great addition to the locker room, a place that is always looking for good leadership as well. Should or can the Indians ink Bruce? A great question.

Early Guess – Bruce gets an offer from the Indians, a good one, and eventually takes it, signing for four years at $60 million ($15 mil a season), and the Indians have a leader who can play the outfield and even first base, and hit for power.
