CVCA Royals Shut The Mayfield Wildcats Out Of Baron Cup 4-0

BROOKLYN, Ohio – It was a match up that no one expected as the CVCA Royals would face the Wildcats of Mayfield. This was a hard fought battle that resulted in a victory for the Royals by a score of 4-0.

The first period was scoreless until Bailey McRitchie scored at the 13:12 mark with an assist by no. 75 Hayden Dickerson.

When the teams returned to the ice it took a new look, as the action seemed to pick up with back and forth play fighting to make headway. Then at the 11:30 mark McRitchie finds the back of the net for his second goal of the game with an assist from RW Noah Polanski.

Literally nine seconds later, Dickerson blows one by Wildcat goaltender Ripley Crosley increasing the lead to 3-0 with 3;21 remaining in the middle frame on an assist from Center, Christian Beckett.

The crowd went wild as the Royals and Wildcats entered the arena to finish this battle in the final stanza of this Cinderella story.

Again the puck drops and the clash ensued. The chippyness of the final frame became more intense as the frustration began to mount when Noah Polanski puts it between the pipes at 8:37 to put the cap on this one with an assist by Tim Foster.

Brooks Montgomery of CVCA was perfect between the pipes with a shut out, stopping everything fired his way 36 times today.  For Mayfield, Ripley Crosley defended 27 of 31 shots on goal.

CVCA will face the winner of Aurora and Brooklyn in tomorrow’s championship round of the GCHSHL Baron Cup
