Columbus Blue Jackets Earn 7th-Straight Win

This Columbus Blue Jackets team is no longer just “a good story” about a hot start.

The Jackets won their seventh-straight game on Tuesday, defeating the Oilers 3-1 at Edmonton.

Edmonton jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Columbus shut the Oilers down the rest of the night, thanks to ridiculous goaltending like this from Sergei Bobrovsky:

Sam Gagner (12) tied things up at the 7:59 mark of the second period, assisted by Alexander Wennberg and Zach Werenski.

Gagner came through again at the 7:10 mark of the third, setting up Cam Atkinson (11) for a power play goal to take the lead.

Wennberg also assisted on the goal and leads the team in that category with 18 on the season.

Less than 90 seconds later, Matt Calvert (3) put the nail in the coffin off an assist from Josh Anderson.

11 more minutes of lights out defense and just like that: the Blue Jackets are 18-5-4 on the season.

It’s been time for people to start paying attention to this team for the past two months, but this type of dominance is getting ridiculous.

Fun fact:

Facts are fun:

The truth is a beautiful thing.

The Blue Jackets are back in action on Friday night at Calgary.
