Cleveland State Takes on Powerhouse Maryland in Cancun Challenge

GAME #6 – at CLEVELAND STATE (2-3) #2 MARYLAND (5-0)

GAME PREVIEW:
• Cleveland State concludes play in the Cancun Challenge when the Vikings play at No. 2-ranked Maryland on Saturday (Nov. 28) at 7:30 pm in the XFINITY Center.
• The Vikings are 2-3 this year after a 77-66 setback to South Dakota State on Wednesday (Nov. 25) in Cancun, Mexico.
• Maryland is 5-0 this year and is coming off an 86-63 win over Rhode Island in Cancun, Mexico on Wednesday (Nov. 25).
• The game will be the fourth of five straight games away from home for the Vikings.
• Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on AM 1420 WHK with Al Pawlowski providing the play-by-play.

THE MARYLAND STATE SERIES:
• Saturday’s game will be just the second all-time meeting between CSU and Maryland.
• The Terps defeated CSU, 95-84, in the only meeting between the two schools on Dec. 5, 1984.

GAME 5 RECAP – SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 77, CSU 66 (11/25/2015)
• CSU fell to South Dakota State, 77-66, on Wednesday (Nov. 25) in the championship game of the Mayan Division at the Cancun Challenge.
• Kenny Carpenter led the Vikings with a career-high 17 points and career-high tying seven rebounds.
• Andre Yates scored 10 points with three assists, while Demonte Flannigan scored nine points. Vinny Zollo chipped in eight points and three rebounds, while Jeron Rogers added nine points and five rebounds, both career-highs.

UP NEXT:
• CSU concludes its busy early season road swing with a 7:00 pm contest at Toledo on Wednesday (Dec. 2).

• The Vikings will then play five of six games at home to round out the month of December, starting with a Dec. 5 contest against Ohio at 3:00 pm in the first of five home games at Quicken Loans Arena this year.
