Cleveland State Men’s Hoops Take the Floor Today Against Oakland

GAME PREVIEW:
•     Cleveland State concludes a brief two-game homestand with a 2:00 pm contest against Oakland on Saturday (Feb. 4) in the Wolstein Center.
•    The Vikings are 7-16 overall and 3-8 in the Horizon League after a 90-73 win over Detroit Mercy on Thursday night.
•    Oakland is 17-7 overall (7-4 HL) and is coming off a 90-76 win at Youngstown State on Thursday night.
•    Saturday’s game will be broadcast on American Sports Network and ESPN3 with Dave Ellis and Tom Pecora on the call.
•    Al Pawlowski and Pat Vuyancih will have the call of Saturday’s game on AM 1420, WHK and AM 1440, WHKZ.

THE OAKLAND SERIES:
•    CSU leads the all-time series with Oakland, 7-3.
•    The Vikings won the first six meetings with Oakland winning the next three.
•    CSU won the first meeting this year, 76-65, at Oakland (Jan. 16).

GAME 23 REVIEW: @CSU 90, DETROIT MERCY 73 (2/2/17):
•     CSU used a 19-0 run early in the second half to turn a halftime deficit into a big win over Detroit Mercy.
•    The 90 points were a season-high for CSU, which outscored the Titans in the second half, 57-33.
•    Rob Edwards led five Vikings in double figures with 24 points. Bobby Word added 17 points and Kasheem Thomas finished with 15 points and seven assists.
•    Demonte Flannigan had 10 points and nine boards and Anthony Wright recorded 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.


UP NEXT:

•    CSU hits the road for two games next week, playing at League leading Valparaiso on Thursday (Feb. 9) at 8:00 pm ET and at UIC on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 4:00 pm ET.
