Cleveland State Men’s Hoops Plays Tonight at Wright State

GAME PREVIEW:
•     Cleveland State hits the road for the first time in the Horizon League when the Vikings play at Wright State on Thursday (Jan. 5) at 7:30 pm.
•    The Vikings are 5-9 overall this year and 1-1 in the League after a 62-53 win over Milwaukee on New Year’s Eve.
•    WSU is 10-5 overall (1-1 HL) after an 85-72 win at Detroit on Dec. 31.
• Al Pawlowski has the call of Thursday’s game on AM 1420, WHK.
•    The game will also be broadcast on Time Warner Sports Channel and ESPN3 with Neil Sika and Braden Bushman on the call.

THE WRIGHT STATE SERIES:
•     The all-time series in men’s basketball between CSU and Wright State is tied at 33-33.
•    The Raiders won both meetings last year, while CSU won both match-ups the previous season.
•    The Vikings are 12-19 all-time in Fairborn.

GAME 14 REVIEW: @CSU 62, MILWAUKEE 53 (12/31/16):
•     CSU closed out the calendar year with a 62-53 win over Milwaukee on Saturday in the Wolstein Center.
•    Demonte Flannigan led the Vikings with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Bobby Word hit four three’s for 12 points.
•    Kasheem Thomas added 13 points, while Kenny Carpenter posted eight points and four rebounds.
•    CSU started the game 3-of-16 from the field, but made 20 of its final 27 shots to shoot .535 (23-43) from the field for the game.
•    CSU’s defense held Milwaukee to an opponent season low in points.

UP NEXT:
•    CSU concludes its weekend trip with a 1:00 pm contest at Northern Kentucky on Saturday (Jan. 7).
•    The Vikings return home to host UIC on Thursday (Jan. 12) at 7:45 pm in the Wolstein Center.
•    It will be a doubleheader with the CSU women hosting Valparaiso at 5:30 pm.
