Cavs Guard Iman Shumpert Has Arthroscopic Surgery to Repair Left Knee

As was announced by the team on Thursday, Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this morning at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health.

The surgery was performed by team physicians Dr. Richard Parker and Dr. James Rosneck. Shumpert has averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 13 games this season for the Cavs.

He missed five of the last six games due to fluid build-up in his knee, and played just seven minutes before leaving the contest against the 76’ers on Monday night in Philadelphia.

Shumpert will now undergo a period of recovery and rehabilitation and his return to play timeline is currently projected at 6-8 weeks.
