Cavs clap back against Thunder with 120-112 win; three takeaways

1. Bench mob 2.0

The Cavs’ bench has been great all season, averaging 41.5 points per game coming into Tuesday. Over the last three games, they have now scored 50 or more points, adding in 51 tonight.

Both Rodney Hood and Jordan Clarkson had 14, while Clarkson added four assists. Larry Nance Jr. tipped in 13, nine rebounds and three blocks while Jeff Green added 10.

In the fourth quarter, head coach Tyronn Lue left Hood, Clarkson, Green and Nance on the court along with Kyle Korver while LeBron James got a rest. The move paid off, as the Cavs were up four to end the third quarter but had a 10-point lead when James checked back in with 8:12 remaining in the game.

The bench’s performance was massive tonight, as the Thunder managed just 20 points from their reserves.
