Cavs and Tristan Thompson Agree on Five-Year Deal

According to Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group, power forward Tristan Thompson and his agent Rich Paul have agreed to a five-year deal worth $82 million.

The deal makes Thompson the sixth highest paid power forward in the league and makes the Cavaliers the team with the highest payroll in league history at approximately $115 million.

The Cavs initially offered Thompson a five-year deal worth $80 million at the start of free-agency.

The season opener tips off at Chicago Tuesday, October 27.
