Cavaliers five-game win streak ends with 119-116 loss to Bucks; three takeaways

2. So what led to the almost comeback?

The Cavs appeared to be off to a decent enough start in the first quarter, leading 34-30. The turn arguably came at the very end of the quarter, however, when Korver fouled Antetokounmpo near the half court line as he threw up a desperation attempt, giving the Bucks three free throws.

Both Korver and J.R. Smith were forced onto the bench in the second quarter with three fouls each. The Bucks continued to own the Cavs in transition, outscoring them in fast break points 14-2 in the first half and 24-3 for the game. They also hit five 3-pointers, as the Cavs left many shots uncontested.

All of the above led to Milwaukee outscoring Cleveland 39-24 in the second quarter, giving them a 69-58 halftime advantage. The 39 points match the most any team has put up on the Cavs in a single quarter all season.

The Cavs continued to struggle into the third quarter as the Bucks opened the second half on a 7-0 run and ballooned their lead to 16 heading into the final 12 minutes.
