Cavaliers drop third straight game with 114-95 loss to Knicks; three takeaways

CLEVELAND– In a way, it was fitting that prior to their game against the New York Knicks on Sunday, the Cavaliers played an intro video based on the “Stranger Things” opening credits theme. With the exception of the first two games in the season, in some ways it feels as if we are watching the Cleveland team from The Upside Down.

The Cavs lost their third straight game on Sunday night to the Knicks, 114-95, dropping their overall record to 3-4. The last time the Cavs lost to the Knicks prior to tonight’s game was on Oct. 30, 2014. Even then, it was only a five-point loss, and it came during the first game of the season and the night of LeBron James’ return to Cleveland.

“Tonight’s loss and the last couple are unacceptable, and the only way we’re going to be able to get out of it is to put the work in– as players, as coaches. And we’re going to do that,” head coach Tyronn Lue said.

Here are our three takeaways.
