Carlos Carrasco Hit On Pitching Hand By Line Drive; Exits Game

Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco was drilled by a line drive off the bat of Ian Kinsler in Saturday afternoon’s game against the Detroit Tigers.

Carrasco threw only two pitches.

It’s another bump in the road for Cleveland’s starting rotation, which has been dealing with a nagging injury to Danny Salazar for nearly two months and has received inconsistent productivity from Josh Tomlin and Trevor Bauer in recent weeks.

Update: Carrasco has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the 5th metacarpal on his right hand. (Bone below the pinky finger) No time table for his return.
