Carlos Carrasco and Tyler Olson placed on 10-day disabled list

CLEVELAND– The Indians officially placed Carlos Carrasco on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday morning with a right elbow contusion.

Carrasco was struck by a line drive off the bat of Minnesota’s Joe Mauer in Saturday’s contest. He was taken to the hospital for additional X-rays and scans.

The team has also placed Tyler Olson on the 10-day DL with a left latissimus dorsi strain.

In their place, the Indians have recalled Shane Bieber and Evan Marshall from Columbus. Bieber is scheduled to start Sunday afternoon’s game in place of Adam Plutko who was brought in in relief during Saturday’s 9-3 loss against the Twins.
