Carrasco Throws a Gem, Pen Almost Gives it Away as Indians Hold On to Top Sox 9-7; Three Takeaways

2. Carrasco’s outing

Carlos Carrasco was never really in danger of losing this game, thanks to very generous run support. His lone blemish came in the first inning when Yolmer Sanchez scored via an RBI grounded courtesy of Daniel Palka.

On the afternoon, Carrasco allowed one run and three hits over seven innings of baseball. He struck out nine White Sox batters and didn’t walk anyone all day. The win gives him 14 on the season which ties the second most of his career (2015.) His career high in wins came just last season when he had 18 wins. This could be a fun subplot to follow the rest of the season.
