Brunswick Boys Varsity Bowling Finishes In 5th Place At Nordonia Knight Classic

The Blue Devils varsity bowling team finished in 5th place at the Nordonia Knights Classic 35 pins off from qualifying for the Baker finals. Brunswick was paced by junior, Anthony Costanzo (258-665). Costanzo finished 6th among all individuals.

“The result was not what we had hoped for,” said head coach Ryan Jakubczak, “however, the boys bowled a lot better than the last few weeks. I think this sets us up well for our stretch of four GCC matches and the Padua Bruin Classic. These 5 events in a 9-day span will show the true character and resilience of this team and I am looking forward to watching them grow.”

Finishing the day strong was senior captain, Alex Turcheck, shooting a 245 in the final team game. Senior Aaron Shook (196-192-194) and freshman Jordan Tucker (201-198-191) provided the Blue Devils with consistency throughout the day.

The Blue Devils are back in action on Tuesday, December 11, when they open their home portion of the schedule as they host GCC-rival Solon at Dick Hoover’s Lanes. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start.
