Do the Browns Win a Game of the Final Eight Matchups of 2017?

No team in the NFL has gone without a win since the 2008 Detroit Lions, and before that it was 1982 when a team didn’t win a game, and that was the Baltimore Colts who went 0-8 in a strike shortened season.

We all know last season it took the Browns till week 16 to finally win a game, a home game against the San Diego Chargers on Christmas Eve.

This season the Browns do play the Chargers, but it’s now in a new setting in Los Angeles and it’s earlier in the year on December 3rd.

So do the Browns win a game, or is this a season that will see the team go 0-16, meaning that under Hue Jackson (should he make it through 17 weeks) that the team is 1-31 with him on the sidelines as head coach?

Here’s a quick look at the final eight games:

November 12 at Detroit

The Lions are a team that could score (despite the fact they had 18 plays in the red zone Sunday against the Steelers and settled for five field goals), but with Matthew Stafford, it’s a day where the Browns secondary had better eat their Wheaties.

Detroit still has their eyes on the NFC North title with Aaron Rodgers of the Packers out with a broken collarbone, and they will look at the Browns as a stepping stone to get there.

November 19 vs Jacksonville

Jacksonville has been a dark horse in the AFC South and AFC in general this season, and at 4-3 have looked like a team that could make some noise if they can get to the postseason. Their defensive front four has been dominant in parts of games, and they get after the QB as good as any team in the league. Add in rookie running back Leonard Fournette and the Browns have a tall task on their hands at home against the Jags.

November 26 at Cincinnati

Since starting out the season in an offensive funk, the Bengals have started to get on track as they have won three of their last four, with one of those wins coming against the Browns in Cleveland a few weeks back in a dominating effort. The games in Cleveland the last few seasons have been dominated by the Bengals, but the Browns usually are more competitive down in Paul Brown Stadium. Let’s see if they can put up a fight against Marvin Lewis and company.

December 3rd at San Diego

The Chargers may play in a new city, but they will have a short memory as they want revenge for last seasons’ embarrassing Christmas Eve loss in Cleveland to the Browns. The Bolts are treading water at 3-5, but expect them to be on their game with eyes on a win when the Browns make the trip out west, and they will for sure look to get back the win they didn’t get last year.

December 10 vs Green Bay

This could be the best chance for the Browns, as without Aaron Rodgers the Packers just don’t have the firepower as they do when he is under center. The Pack may already be looking at openings on golf courses for the offseason by the time this one is played they may be thinking about the offseason. It could be a game like the Titans game that comes down to a couple plays and mistakes by either side, and so far it’s been the Browns making those mistakes.

December 17 vs Baltimore

Another good chance for the Browns to get a win, as the Ravens are 4-4, but don’t look like as an intimating of a team like they have in the past. Joe Flacco has been battered all season, and took a wicked shot Thursday in a beating of the Dolphins, but looks like unless he gets hurt between now and then should be under center for this game. Baltimore and the Browns usually play tight games in Cleveland, and this again could be a chance for the Browns to get in the win column.

December 24 at Chicago

The Browns will get a look at Mentor QB and a guy many felt they should have drafted in April in Mitch Trubisky as the Bears have already beaten two AFC North teams in the Steelers and Ravens. Again when looking at the schedule many felt this could be a win, but it’s in Chicago where the Bears are currently 2-2, and who knows if Trubisky will have a chip on his shoulder to want to beat his hometown team that could have selected him.

December 31st 1st at Pittsburgh

Last season the Steelers had everything wrapped up in the AFC North, and played all their backups – and still beat the Browns in overtime on a Cobi Hamilton touchdown. It could be the same storyline this year as the Steelers already have a two-game lead over the Ravens, and with a win over them already it’s basically their division to lose. If they have everything already wrapped up on New Year’s Eve, it could be the Browns looking to avoid a winless season against the Steelers backups. NFL football at its finest.

So do the Browns get a win in 2017?

We asked fans on Twitter that question yesterday, and if so who do the Browns beat? Here’s some of the responses we got.
