Browns To Sign Former Bengals Defensive End Chris Smith To Three-Year Deal

The Cleveland Browns have signed defensive end Chris Smith to a three-year deal, Peter Schrager reports on Tuesday. Smith was formerly with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017 after being traded by the Jacksonville Jaguars before the season.

Smith has played four seasons in the NFL. During that time, he’s appeared in 35 games but did not make a single start for either the Jaguars or Bengals. The twenty-six-year-old Arkansas product currently has 7.5 sacks and seventeen tackles in his career.

Smith is viewed as more of a situational defensive player and will help sure up the line for Cleveland.
