Browns General Manager John Dorsey Fields Questions Surrounding Odell Beckham Jr. All Day Monday, Keeps Quiet On Any Potential Trade

The Cleveland Browns have been big players this off-season, not only in free agency but in some trades as well. Perhaps they are in the hunt for one more move.

According to an earlier report from the New York Daily News, the New York Giants are willing to listen to trade offers for Odell Beckham Jr. that include a first-round pick. The news comes on the same day that Beckham Jr. stated he will not play for New York or any other team without a new contract. Beckham Jr. has plans to become the highest-paid player in the league and is persistent in trying to achieve that personal goal.

Well, the NFL coaches and owners meeting took place on Monday and it appears the Browns and Giants might be willing to discuss a trade regarding the star receiver. Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey told reporters that he and Giants general manager Dave Gettleman had a discussion Monday morning, though he wouldn’t release the details of the conversation.

“Actually I had coffee with Dave this morning, but we really didn’t bring [a swap of draft choices] up. Just talked,” Dorsey told cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot. “Asked how our summers were. How was your fall offseason?”

Dorsey was obviously asked about a potential deal for Beckham Jr. in the works.

“Unfortunately I’ll say this again. He’s with another team, so I really can’t say anything about him. I can’t do it.”

Dorsey then went on NFL Network later on Monday to discuss the wild off-season Cleveland has stirred up. And once again, Beckham’s name came up in the sit-down interview.

Check out the clip below to see Dorsey’s response:

In order to acquire the former LSU teammate of new Browns receiver Jarvis Landry, Cleveland would have to part ways with the number one or number four overall pick they currently have in the 2018 NFL Draft. A swap of picks could be in play for a potential deal, though all things are considered when discussing a deal as big as one for Beckham Jr. would be.
