Boys HS Hoops: Bay Rockets Move to 7-2 with 77-52 Win Over Huron Tigers

The Bay Rockets improved to 7-2 on the season Wednesday, as a 28-13 difference in the first quarter was the key in a 25-point win over the Huron Tigers 77-52 in a game played at Quicken Loans Arena.

Bay was led by Senior Christian Dupps, who put in 17 points. Senior guard Erik Painter added 16 points for the Rockets.

Senior guard Cade Gergye rounded out the Bay scoring with 10 points in the win.

Up 15 heading into the second quarter, the Rockets extended their lead to 43-24 at the half, and then outscored the Tigers 34-28 in the second half for the win.

Huron, who with the setback drop to 4-4 on the year, were led by Casey Scroggins who scored 10 points. Junior Nic Ritzler added eight for the Tigers.

Bay will look for their eighth win of the season on Friday night as they will play host to the Rocky River Pirates (6-1) at 7:30pm.

Huron will be in action on Sunday as they will play at Vermilion against the Sailors.
