Blue Jackets (0-1) Host Sharks (1-0): Game Preview

After blowing a 3-1 lead in their season opener on Thursday night against the Boston Bruins, the Blue Jackets look to bounce back with a tough match at home against the defending Western Conference champion San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks looked good in their opening night 2-1 win over the LA Kings.

The Blue Jackets and Sharks split their two meetings in 2015-16, but this will not be an easy contest for Columbus, who showed they will have some growing pains to go through, especially when it comes to endurance.

Players to watch:

Columbus: Seth Jones (1 G, 1 A), Cam Atkinson (1 G), Zach Werenski (1 A)

San Jose: Logan Couture (1 G, 1 A), Tyler Toffoli (1 G)

Goaltenders:

Sergei Bobrovsky (0-1, 5 GA) vs. Martin Jones (1-0, 1 GA)

On paper, the Blue Jackets are underdogs, but it’s an 82-game season and at least Columbus will have the home crowd on its side.
