Berea-Midpark High School Girls Swimming Falls to Lakewood High School 100-85

The girls swimming team dropped their first conference meet on Tuesday, losing to the Rangers of Lakewood 100-85 in a close battle.

The girls opened the meet strong, winning the opening event as the 200 Medley Relay team of Abby Calaway, LynnDee Popovich, Mallory Redetzki and Jadyn Zahursky finished with a time of 2:11:56.

The team of Calaway, Lexi Schuller, Redetzki and Popovich also won the 400 Freestyle Relay at the end of the night with their time of 4:13.73.

In the individual events, Schuller won twice, while Calaway and Popovich each grabbed a victory. Schuller was victorious in the 200 IM (2:23.85) and the 500 Freestyle (5:35.90). Freshman Calaway won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:11.44 while senior Popovich won the Breaststroke clocking in at 1:18.39.
