Avon Lake Hockey Improves to 2-0

The Avon Lake Shoremen improved to 2-0 with an 8-2 win over Amherst on Friday night.

Junior forward Jared Aslaksen scored two goals in the first period, increasing his season total to four in just two games.

Aslaksen scored 41 goals and recorded 31 assists as a sophomore and appears to have picked up right where he left off.

Freshman Brian Walasinski netted a pair of goals in the win, as well and has three goals so far this season.

The Shoremen have won their first two games by a combined score of 18-4, but the competition will get tougher as the season goes on.

Next up, Avon Lake hosts Aurora on Dec. 4.
