Andrew Miller cleared for throwing program; no timetable established for game activity

CLEVELAND– Indians reliever Andrew Miller has been cleared for a throwing program, according to an update from the team.

Miller was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday due to right knee inflammation. On Tuesday, Miller went to New York and was examined by Dr. David Altchek, who confirmed that diagnosis.

Following the examination, Miller was cleared for a throwing program and is expected to begin making a “gradual progression back to mound activity.”

The Indians say that no time frame has been established for Miller to return to game activity.
