Admir Suljevic wins NEOSI award for PASL Player of the Year!

The votes have been counted and the results are now official.

The NEOSI staff would like to congratulate Admir Suljevic of the Cleveland Legacy for winning the PASL player of the Year. Suljevic had an outstanding season, leading the team with 18 goals as the Legacy finished the season unbeaten at 4-0-2.

Suljevic had plenty of help along the way with his teammates setting up shots for him and hustling for loose balls all season long.  His biggest ally was Mikey Derezic.  Their line, also including Sami Mutemwa at times was dominant and could not be stopped.

Head coach Lou Kastelic had this to say about the dynamic combo of Suljevic and Derezic,

“They have been playing together since college at Cleveland State and grew up in the Mentor Area together as well.  I knew that right away coming into the season that their line would be pretty potent and it was.”

Not to be forgotten was the fore-mentioned Sami Mutemwa who also had a banner year and some of the sweetest footwork in the league.  Head coach Lou Kastelic had this to say about the fancy footwork and all around hustle of Mutemwa, “Sami is great, I can’t say enough about his footwork.  I need him to be the player he is, and he is a dribbler.  He is going to create things with his feet which opens up a bunch of things for us going forward.”

Congrats again to Admir Suljevic!
