21 straight! Indians set new American League record for consecutive wins; three takeaways

3. 21 is fun

With their 21st consecutive win, the Indians have set a new American League record for consecutive wins. They also tie the 1935 Chicago Cubs for the second-longest winning streak in Major League Baseball history.

The most stunning part of these games is the way that this team continues to dismantle opponents. They now have +104 run differential, and have outscored opponents 139-35– that’s an average of 6.6 runs per game.

The Indians have trailed for a total of four innings during these 21 games, and today was also just the second time that the Tribe has not scored first during the streak.

There’s not much else we can say about this team that hasn’t already been said, but we have all gotten to witness a truly historical moment.
