2018 High School Football Team Preview: Southeast Pirates

In 2017, the Southeast Pirates started off winning four of their first five games before running into the thick of their conference schedule. Each of their three losses came to teams who would eventually qualify for the playoffs. The Pirates finished 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the PTC County Division, only good enough for 12th place in Division IV, Region 13.

This year, the Pirates look to make their first playoff appearance since 2011. Head coach Patrick Youel brings back a young team that graduated a lot of starters.

“There are some really good teams in the county. Mogadore returns a lot of players, Rootstown is coming off a regional final appearance, and brings back a great senior class. (Garrettsville) Garfield’s always tough, Valley Christian has some great athletes. We need to take care of ourselves every day. A lot of it will be about health and who has those things going. We’re young and we have to stay healthy. We just have to compete every day and get better.” said Youel.

Notable returning starters:

Michael Bolevich (Jr.) QB

Connor Muldowney (Jr.) WR

Chandler Proctor (Jr.) WR/DB
